Phranakorn-Nornlen Hotel

Review: Phranakorn-Nornlen Hotel, Bangkok (Kid-Friendly!)

This cute boutique hotel is a great choice for families with kids traveling in Bangkok.

We had a great stay at the Phranakorn-Nornlen Hotel in Bangkok. Each curated room is uniquely furnished, with tons of personality – one of our rooms had floral wall paintings, and our other had cute painted chickens.

Downstairs, you’ll find a cozy cafe to hang out, relax, or get some work done. There are places to sit on the floor, and tables – all with a nice coffee shop vibe. Coffee is available from the shop most of the day. The food was ok – the egg breakfast was so-so, but the pancakes were fantastic.

The place has so much character. It’s full of curated art, fun knickknacks, old signs, a row of ancient tube TVs, and old gumball machines—so much fun stuff to look at and explore. I’m so glad we chose this over the modern, characterless hotel our friends had picked nearby. The funky vibe and unique decor make it a fun experience, especially for kids.

One thing to note is that the rooms don’t have a full desk, so it might not be the best spot for digital nomads looking for a fully functional workspace. That said, the downstairs area is super chill and perfect for working remotely.

Getting around town was a breeze – Grab or Bolt cars were always quick to come, and we often found Tuk Tuks waiting in the alley. We’ll be back, and I highly recommend the quirky Phranakorn-Nornlen Hotel for those looking for a fun, unique place to stay in Bangkok.

(Just in case you wanted more information about the chickens on the walls: During our trip, each chicken was given a name and a fully realized personality. One of the kids swore a new chicken appeared during our stay, but this was never officially confirmed.)
